As part of an international team Asif Khan was invited to propose a design for the new Space Museum at VDNKh Park in Moscow, Russia.
A series of elevated two-storey volumes will bridge and divide, both horizontally and vertically, the colossal volume of the listed 1930s "Kosmos" pavilion, whilst providing new entry points and navigation through to the adjacent ornate halls. The 4000m2 of controlled exhibition space provided will centre around a narrative vision, one in which each visitor is taken on a journey from earth into space, depicting the intermediary layers of atmosphere as rooms of light.
